following information from two family Bibles from Waunuchaf.
1836 Daniel born 25th September . Son of Rodrick and Elizabeth Evans, Waunuchaf. Baptised 13th November at Llanddewi Brefi church by Thomas Edwards, Curad (sic) 1864 Daniel Evans of Waunuchaf, Llanddewi Brefi and Rachel Jones of Tanlan ,Estrad married on Wednesday 1st June at Llanvihangel Estrad by Mr Morgans, Vicar. 1890 Rachel Evans died 4th December at Waunuchaf, Llanddewi Brefi. Age 55 years Daniel and Rachel’s four daughters were:
All four baptised at Ebeneser, Llangybi by Thomas Thomas Pritchard. 1906 Lisa (Elizabeth) Lloyd died 9th April at Pant y Cwar, Llanddewi Brefi. Age 37 years. 1909 Daniel Evans died 10th February at Waunuchaf, Llanddewi Brefi. Age 72 years. 1874 Willie (William) Lloyd Jones born 14th January 1909 Willie Lloyd Jones married Hannah Evans Wednesday 24th March at Saint David Church, Llanddewi Brefi by J.R.Davies, Vicar. (For Willie's story go HERE) 1909 Mattie (Martha) Jane Jones born 30th December at Waunuchaf, Llanddewi Brefi at 1.45am. 1912 Ray (Rachel) Mary Jones born 18th September at Waunuchf, Llanddewi Brefi at 12.30am. 1954 Willie Lloyd Jones died in Waunuchaf, Llanddewi Brefi at 8.20am Monday 18th October , buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. He was 80 years old. 1936 Rachel Mary Jones married Brinley Thomas Griffiths 30th May . 1964 Hannah Jones died at Aberaeron Hospital on 20th May , buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. She was 84 years old. 1989 Martha Jane Jones died on 6th April at Ger Y Llan, Carmarthen. Cremated at Narberth Crematorium, and buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. She was 79 years old. 1997 Bryn (Brinley) Thomas Griffths died at ‘Plas Y Dderwen’ nursing home, Carmarthen 8th October . Cremated at Narberth Crematorium 17th October 1997, and buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. He was 90 years old. 2006 Rachel Mary Griffiths nee Jones died at Cartref Argel, Carmarthen 29th March. Cremated at Narberth Crematorium 4th April 2006, and buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. She was 93 years old. ADENDA 1
1966 Mary Ann Jones died at Neath General Hospital at 8.10pm on 18th August , buried at Llanddewi Brefi cemetery. (Only sister to Willie Lloyd Jones) (All the above burials at Graves 176-77 in the new cemetery on the Tregaron road.) This completes the family Bible information
ADENDA 2
* Sarah Jane Evans married Lewis Lloyd of Esgairgarn. They had a large family, 15 children! One son, David Lloyd, was killed in action in the 1914-18 war. Another, Roderick Lloyd was a minister in one of Carmarthen Town’s chapels. He married Mattie Evans, daughter of cousin John Evans who ran the Bristol shop. (See Above) Census Information
* * * * * NB1: Penforial, Gogoyan, Llanddewi Brefi is where Rachel Evans had all her children. Daniel and Rachel lived there when they were first married, as Daniel's father, Roderick Evans occupied Waunuchaf until his death in 1876. * * * * * NB2: Most of the anecdotal evidence for the Evans family comes from the last person born at Waunuchaf, namely Mrs. Ray Griffiths (Rachel Mary Jones), she died in Cartref Argel,Carmarthen on the 29 March 2006.
